2022 Santa Claus Parade

Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2022 Santa ClausParade.  Please ensure you read the information below before submitting your float application.

Parade Rules and Information

The Santa Claus Parade is returning in 2022. We are returning to the travelling parade model, enjoyed by many year over year. Please complete the application below to ensure your Christmas/Holiday themed float is included.

  1. Please ensure all float decorations are properly secured.
  2. Please ensure all handouts are given directly to the spectators so as not to be thrown into the road and are not thrown from the floats.
  3. Children on Floats must be supervised by at least one adult.
  4. All participants are to follow the one-way street up Gibson to join the floats. Please only drop off participants and do not park on the left side of the road. This will ease flow of floats and participants on Gibson Street
  5. Participants can be picked up either at the Stockey Centre or in the Town Dock Parking lot once Santa has gone by to indicate the end of the parade.
  6. Any questions please contact:

Setting Up For The Parade

Gibson Street will become a ONE-WAY street for the event starting at 3pm.

Floats are to begin lining up at 3pm and be ready for the parade to start at 4:30pm sharp.

Floats, participants and residents of Gibson Street are to enter from McMurray Street and move toward Isabella Street.

Float position numbers will be given out a few days before the event.

Float position numbers will be on the right hand side of the street. Please park your float as close to the position number as possible in order to maximize the ease of movement for all floats to find their locations.

Shortly after 4pm, organizers will ask that all floats move as close to the float in front of them as possible to ensure that all floats have crossed Rosetta before the beginning of the parade to avoid cross over.

Float Instructions During the Parade

  1. Ensure driver’s window is open at all times.
  2. Leave enough space between you and the float in front.
  3. Be prepared to start and stop regularly.
  4. Please obey all parade marshals’ instructions.
  5. Please drive in the middle of the road.
  6. DO NOT cross the railway tracks unless you have enough space to cross completely.
  7. If a train comes, obey all crossing signals, wait until the train is done then resume the parade at the same pace. Do not rush to catch up.
