Sound of Autumn 2025

Contest Rules and Instructions:

1. Participation is open to all residents within the boundaries of the Town of Parry Sound.
2. Entry is free, there are no fees associated with this competition.
3. Contest entries must be received no later than October 17, 2025 at 4:00pm.
4. Contest is for exterior decorations that can be viewed from the sidewalk only. Therefore, only those decorations located on the street side of the property will be judged.
5. Entrants retain the copyright to their photographs. However, by submitting your photo, you hereby grant the Town of Parry Sound and contest Sponsors a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to print, publish, use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of your submission, and display your full name and photograph in connection with your submission, in any media formats and through any media channels.
6. The photos you submit will be the photos that the public votes on. Please ensure your photos are of good quality!
7. Judging categories will include Residential displays (homes, and houses serving the purpose of residence), and Non-Residential displays (businesses, buildings, spaces etc.). ALL entries must include an address. Town facilities are not eligible for competition.
8. Only the top 5 decoration displays of each category will advance to the public voting stage of the contest.
9. Judging will occur from October 21 until October 29, 2025 via online voting by members of the public at www.parrysound.ca
10. Two prizes will be awarded per judging category. Residential category prizes: One 1^st place prize of a $250 gift certificate to your choice of home improvement store or garden centre within Town boundaries; One 2^nd Place prize of a $100 gift certificate to your choice of home improvement store or garden centre within Town boundaries. Non-Residential category prizes: One 1^st place prize of a lunch for you and your employees with approximate value of $250; One 2^nd Place prize of a coffee break for you and your employees with approximate value of $100.
11. Contact information is required on registration forms to contact participants who win prizes.

Contest Legal Disclaimer

How to Enter/Eligibility: There is no purchase necessary to enter this contest. All buildings, homes etc. must have a Town of Parry Sound address to be eligible for this competition and subsequent prizes. Registration forms can be submitted online at www.parrysound.ca/autumn or by email to jyoung@parrysound.com up to October 17, 2025.

Contest Deadlines: Contest registrations will be accepted until October 17, 2025. This date represents contest closure and registrations will not be accepted past this date. Contest judging will occur between the dates of October 21-29, 2025.

Winner Selection/Notification/Disqualification: Contest winners will be selected by a public vote hosted on www.parrysound.ca. Prize winners will be notified via email within 7 days of contest judging. If no response is received within 7 days of notification, contest winners will forfeit their prize and the prize will be re-allocated the next most qualified competitor.

Privacy: All contestant information is protected under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. F.31, and will not be shared or sold without the owner’s consent. Contact information is required only to communicate with prize winners.
